combining the best of mother nature with the best of a modern golf layout

Designed by Rees Jones, this golf course was opened in 1974. Arcadian Shores boasts a challenging 6,857 yards from the Championship Tees and has a course rating of 73.2 with a slope of 137. In June 2009, Burroughs and Chapin Golf Management assumed responsibility of the 18-hole golf course, the first one that Rees Jones designed, and well deserved modifications have brought the course back to its former glory. Arcadian Shores also accommodates any level of golfer with its selection of five tee boxes. This beautiful golf course also features a practice facility, the esteemed Hilton Golf Academy, a fully stocked golf pro shop, and a luxurious clubhouse complete with a grill room.

“Arcadian Shores combines the best of Mother Nature with the best elements of a modern golf layout. Arcadian offers enticing lakes, deviously placed bunkers, tree-lined Bermuda fairways and the distinctive contouring presents the ultimate golf challenges of man and nature. Lush Tifton Bermuda greens with 64 creatively-placed sand bunkers and natural lakes woven in and out of the fairways make this a challenge you will long remember.”

The Sun News surveys golf experts and asks them to rate individual holes in order to compile what they refer to as the “Dream 18”, the best 18 holes on the beach. Statistics show that holes number 2 and 13 are rated among the best 18 holes of golf to play in the Myrtle Beach area.
