Though it is situated close to three of other top golf courses: Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, True Blue Golf Plantation and the Heritage Club yet it get's good traffic of golf players.
Designed by Ron Garl and built in 1995, this course plays just less than 6900 yards from the championship tees. It is situated on a 16'Th century beautiful and scenic plantation property.
Most of the holes are with lined trees on either side. It's not possible to avoid the water carries either. It has some long carries on par 5s, 4s and 3s. The par 4 seventh has a peninsula green with absolutely no margin or error.
The above mentioned ninth hole does demand a full confident swing to cross marshland on second shot leading to the uphill green. It is one of the trickiest holes on an otherwise player friendly layout.
Tradition Golf Club: The verdict Though Tradition Golf Club has been under the radar due to all the competition it has from other big golf courses in the area and itself is not a part of some big golf course company with a financial muscle.
The Tradition's green were simply outstanding in February, they were fast, firm and were infact true: a blast to putt on. Tee-to-green conditions were conducive and as good as you may find at this time in Carolinas where rough is dormant and greens and fairways appear over seeded.
The facilities being provided here are world class. There is a marvelous clubhouse, a pro shop and a separate grill which serves lunch as well as breakfast. There is a separate locker room and a small area to change.
The course has a huge driving range, a separate golf school. A proactive bunker is also provided and a huge 43000 sq ft of chipping and putting greens.
The Tradition Golf Club is ideally situated in the Grand Strand's middle tier and is really a good bargain as compared to few other courses in the neighborhood.
